Welcome to the Farmers Arms at Heskin, the same welcome awaits you as it did the weary travellers that used the pub and its stables way back in the 1700's. In those days the Farmers Arms was aptly named THE PLEASANT RETREAT and only found it's new title of the Farmers in 1902.
It has been on the estate of several brewing companies including Matthew Brown, Burtonwood, Duttons, and now through a twenty year lease it is with your hosts Malcolm and Ann Rothwell.
The Farmers is a truly family run pub,Andrew our son is the head chef and his wife Sue is our Restaurant Manageress. We all have a very important role to play.
While still retaining it's OLDE WORLDE charm, the Farmers continues to provide the very best of traditional cask ales and good hearty fayre. Sit back enjoy and take in the warmth of this fine country inn and remember its old title :THE PLEASANT RETREAT.
